Barrett Petfood is a family owned and operated premium pet food manufacturer.  The Operational Planning Leader will set the overall vision and strategy for operational flow which includes inventory consideration and production planning. 
 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Reviews contract forecasts, purchase orders, and other project documents to understand requirements.
  • Works with account managers on production scheduling and planning of jobs to meet our customer's needs.
  • Schedules and coordinates jobs with appropriate department staff to ensure jobs are completed quickly and efficiently.
  • Works with the procurement department to ensure ingredient quantities are available for production demand.
  • Considers inventory and supplies needed for all production areas to ensure successful and timely job completion and prediction of needed lead times.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and rolling production forecasts for all customers, using historical data, and customer provided forecasts.
  • Proactively involves Senior Leadership when trending of forecast is outside normal thresholds.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Review flour mill activities and work with Mill Manager to ensure proper delivery of flour to all facilities.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree in related area preferred.
  • Prior planning experience or industry experience preferred.
  • Proven development of systems and processes to create efficiency and process improvement in inventory controls and production planning.
  • At least two years of experience in related disciplines including production planning, or assembly work, required.
